Subject: SEEKING HELP FOR DAUGHTER
WITH RARE CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE

"My daughter, Darrelle Jed 'Dajed' Montojo"
"My daughter, Darrelle Jed (Dajed) Montojo, 2 yrs. old, is suffering from a complex congenital heart disease called TETRALOGY OF FALLOT (TOF) with PULMONARY VALVE ATRESIA (PVA)."

"At 4 days old, she underwent a Blalock-Taussig Shunt (BTS) wherein a 4mm goretex was inserted to increase lung blood flow because she was cyanotic and could not breathe. Her corrective surgery was supposed to be performed last April 2 at the Philippine Heart Center but was postponed because her cardiac catherization on March 22 revealed that she has NO MAIN PULMONARY ARTERY (MPA).
We were told to wait for a U.S.-based surgeon who will evaluate if she is operable in the Philippines. Our pedia-cardiologist told us that the disease is very rare and Dajed is too young for a valve homograft. Pulmonary hypertension may also develop because of her large PDA and BTS which cause her lungs to overwork."

"We've tried to e-mail several foundations abroad asking if they can sponsor Dajed for a surgical treatment in the U.S. but none of them replied. My husband is the only one working, I left my job because Dajed is sickly and susceptible to infections. We've been blessed with friends, relatives and brethren in the church who helped us raise $9,000 but this is not enough for a surgical treatment abroad. Dajed is a remarkable kid, musically inclined, intelligent, jolly, and a joy to all of us. We believe that the Lord has a beautiful plan for her."

"I believe that doctors in the U.S. have the expertise on this case so I'm pleading if you can help my daughter find a sponsor in the U.S. You've helped children of different races, I know that you can help Dajed live a normal life too. I have attached the medical documents for your evaluation. We will be forever grateful for any help you can extend to my daughter. I look forward to hearing from you soon."

God bless.
Sincerely,  Jennifer Montojo
