Arife Zejna and her escort, Dr. Jeton Vorfi, arrived JFK airport at 8:40PM as scheduled. Austrian Air put her in a wheel chair and helped her through customs quickly. She looks so frail but seemed to be in good spirit and not too upset to be away from home. She slept most of the time on the plane, she asked for her father a few times. She did not eat anything, but she did drink a lot of water.

The first food she wanted when she arrived the host families' house was chocolate. Her host family, the Picinich, were very excited to have another "daughter" in their house. Arife can only sleep when she is sitting up, breathing gets difficult if she lays down.

Arife will be seen by a local pediatrician to check her general health before she goes to Montefiore Medical Center in New York, on May 28.
