"As I have written to you, I am doing this in behalf of a twelve year old boy with a congenital heart disease tetralogy of fallot. It took us quite sometime to complete the requirements as we had to wait for a good Samaritan to shoulder the needed amount for all his examinations. It’s a good thing, Mr. Tom Coughlin responded right away and sent the money for all the expenses to be incurred including the mailing of his chart. The family is really financially hard pressed and could hardly eat three square meals a day."

Attached are the results of his 2D-Echo, ECG, the child’s picture, the information sheet and the mother’s letter which I have translated. His X-ray films were no longer returned to the hospital for reading, upon the advice of Dr. Collado as the film will be read by the doctors in the US once they received the chart."

This is my own way of showing my gratitude and sharing the blessings Kelvin and my whole family received from God, BOES and GOL."

"Below, the letter of Danlee’s mother which I have translated in English":

Danlee Suangco Serrano, aged 12, Philippines
"I am appealing to good-hearted people to help my son Danlee who has been suffering from a congenital heart disease; because of poverty we were not able to find out his real sickness. We knew he was suffering from a heart disease but it was only last month through the help of concerned people that we have learned of his ailment. According to the doctor, he is suffering from tetralogy of fallot and needs corrective surgery. My family could not afford to raise the amount because I am just a laundry woman earning P150.00 a day, not even enough for the needs my family. My husband has not been working for quite sometime now as he was advised to rest by the doctor. I will be very thankful if you will be able to extend help to my son the way you did to Kelvin who is now enjoying a normal life. I just entrust the case of my son to God and to the generous people. Thank you and may God bless you."

Merlinda S. Serrano, Mother of Danlee
