Oct. 16 - Ray Hough's updates:  "Yana was admitted yesterday into Deborah Hospital and when I last spoke to Dorwisa by telephone last night, both were doing OK. Dorwisa sounded a little bit tired and apprehensive, but the staff at the hospital was very nice when Michele and I were there with them yesterday, so I think they'll be fine. Yana is scheduled to see the dentist this afternoon, and for a catheterization tomorrow morning. Depending upon the extent of the dental work that is necessary because of her dental cavities, and the results of the catheterization, the surgery will be Monday. Dorwisa has been in contact with her family by telephone, and should be able to call them whenever necessary from the hospital".

Oct. 17 - "Alyana & Dorwisa are both doing well. Yana had her catheterization yesterday, and had a pretty rough day, mostly because she gets upset and struggles with the nurses and doctors. She pulled out the sutures from the cath and started to bleed, but was calm and sleeping by the time we left last night. The good news is that the cath showed nothing unexpected, and that the dentist completed the dental work yesterday and only had to remove one tooth. The operation is now scheduled for Monday at 8:00 AM, and most likely will not have to be changed".

"Dorwisa's cough seems to be better, but she isn't getting much sleep. I spoke to her just a few minutes ago, and Alyana is up and walking around outside the room, and seems to be just fine from yesterday. We'll talk to Dorwisa about her getting enough rest".

Oct. 22 - "Alyana's surgery went beautifully yesterday, and she continues to do very well today. She is still in pediatric intensive care, but they think that she will be transferred back to her room sometime tomorrow. She is still sleeping extensively, but all her signs are good".

"Michele and I were with Dorwisa yesterday into last evening, and I just spoke to her on the phone, and she seems to be holding up well. Tomorrow is her birthday, so we're visiting early. I told her the doctors already gave her the best birthday present that she could have hoped to receive. Dorwisa has spoken to her family, and finally got some much needed sleep last night".  /Ray

Oct. 25 - Alyana's host, Ray Hough, continues: "Alyana was released from intensive care yesterday afternoon about 1:00 PM, and was walking and playing by the time we visited last evening. She still obviously has some pain, and the staff is keeping close track of what they said was a slight amount of fluid buildup in the lungs, but overall they tell us she is doing great. I spoke to Dorwisa about 30 minutes ago, and she says that Yana is still playing and feeling a little bit better as time passes. All in all, Michele and I both thought she looked great last night".
